The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work 1:1 or with small groups of students, providing tailored academic and pastoral support to help learners access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their potential.
Consistency is key in this role, so we are looking for individuals who can commit to working Monday to Friday and develop positive, trusted relationships with students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students aged 16+
- Assist learners with academic tasks, organisation, and engagement
- Support students with a range of additional learning needs
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement learning plans
- Create a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Availability Monday to Friday
- Ability to commit long-term to provide continuity and consistency
- Experience working with young people or adults (education, youth work, care, or similar preferred)
- A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An interest in supporting students with additional needs (SEND experience is an advantage but not essential)
